The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s fully automated smart vehicle disinfection tunnel at the racecourse has officially been put into operation.
Intelligent Spray Disinfection System

Aogong Spray Technology Department
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Conghua Racecourse, a flagship project of Guangdong–Hong Kong cooperation, is the largest and highest‑standard international horse‑racing training facility in China, with animal health and safety protocols aligned with world‑class benchmarks. To fortify the cross‑border equine transport biosecurity perimeter, Guangzhou Aogong Spray Equipment Co., Ltd., drawing on years of experience in livestock disease prevention and large‑scale venue disinfection, successfully undertook the construction of a vehicle disinfection gateway for the racecourse. Utilizing an intelligent high‑pressure misting system, it has established an all‑day, comprehensive biosecurity barrier that leaves no blind spots, safeguarding both horse‑transport vehicles and operational fleet vehicles.
I. Project Requirements: International-Level Pandemic Prevention Standards
Conghua Racecourse undertakes the core functions of cross-border training for Hong Kong horse racing and round-trip transportation.
Horses cross borders frequently, posing extremely high biosecurity risks. Racecourses strictly adhere to Guangdong–Hong Kong integrated quarantine standards, requiring all vehicles entering or leaving to undergo thorough disinfection to prevent the introduction and spread of diseases via transport. Conventional manual spraying suffers from uneven coverage, low efficiency, and excessive chemical waste, failing to meet the international‑level防疫 requirements for “seamless clearance, rapid disinfection, and end-to-end controllability.” There is an urgent need for automated, intelligent, professional spray‑disinfection solutions.
II. Austrian Solution: Fully Automatic Intelligent Spray Disinfection for Vehicle Passages
Overall disinfection objectives for the project:
1. It accommodates large specialized vehicles such as horse transport trucks, providing 360° full‑coverage disinfection of the vehicle body, tires, and chassis.
2. Meets Customs’ “seamless inspection” requirements, with a rapid and efficient disinfection process that avoids delays.
3. The equipment must be resistant to disinfectant corrosion and suitable for long-term outdoor operation.
The Guangzhou Aogong technical team has custom‑designed a six‑sided, three‑dimensional spray disinfection system in accordance with the above requirements. The system features spray columns equipped with multi‑directional fan‑type nozzles, complemented by undercarriage misting units, to create an integrated upper–middle–lower mist wall. This ensures thorough coverage of hard‑to‑reach areas such as body crevices, the undercarriage, and tires, leaving no死角. When a vehicle enters the zone, the system automatically activates within 0.5 seconds, completing full‑vehicle disinfection in 15–20 seconds, and shuts down immediately upon departure, enabling unattended operation.
III. Project Outcomes: Strengthening the Lifeline of Epidemic Prevention at the Horse Farm
After the project was put into operation, the disinfection tunnel performed exceptionally well, achieving a disinfection coverage rate of
100% effective at eliminating bacteria, viruses, and parasite eggs, fully meeting equine‑farm and customs quarantine standards. Disinfection time per vehicle is significantly reduced, and in conjunction with the “single approval, multiple round trips” clearance model, vehicles can undergo disinfection immediately upon arrival and pass through seamlessly, ensuring efficient and smooth cross‑border transport. The system cuts water and chemical usage by more than 70%, reduces manual disinfection costs by 60%, and delivers zero‑failure outdoor operation with outstanding corrosion resistance. Since its deployment, it has effectively mitigated the risk of disease transmission, safeguarding the health and safety of thousands of purebred racehorses and helping to maintain zero COVID‑19 cases and zero accidents in Guangdong–Hong Kong cross‑border horse racing logistics.
IV. Project Value: Setting a New Industry Standard for Epidemic Prevention
This project stands as a flagship example of Aogong Spraying’s expertise in biosecurity for high-end livestock operations and international sporting venues, showcasing the company’s technological prowess in intelligent spray‑based disinfection. It not only meets world‑class biosafety standards but also supports the efficient operation of large‑scale facilities, providing a benchmark for biosecurity across diverse settings such as racecourses, livestock farms, border quarantine stations, and slaughterhouses.
