At present, the global epidemic situation remains severe. To address this, a specialized vehicle disinfection system—the Rail Vehicle Disinfection Control System—has been deployed along railway tracks. Whenever a freight train passes through, the system automatically activates its spray‑disinfection units, carrying out a comprehensive disinfection of the train.

The equipment is equipped with 20 high-pressure, high‑intensity spray nozzles. Whenever a train passes, sensors trigger the system to activate, instantly opening the nozzles to deliver a dense, targeted disinfection spray across the train’s exterior. To ensure thorough disinfection of every car and container, the train’s speed is limited to 40 km/h as it traverses the disinfection unit, enabling comprehensive 360‑degree coverage with no blind spots. Staff pre‑prepare sufficient disinfectant based on daily operational schedules and use real-time monitoring to verify that all disinfection procedures are carried out effectively.

Shi Haifu, director of the Nanning Railway Port Logistics Center at Pingxiang Port, stated that since the onset of the pandemic, the Nanning Freight Center has intensified disinfection efforts for inbound freight trains. At the zero-kilometer point on the China–Vietnam border, vehicle‑spraying disinfection equipment has been installed to sanitize every incoming train. Upon arrival at the port and after unloading into warehouses, goods undergo a second round of disinfection in accordance with epidemic prevention and control requirements.
